Vitamin-B1 also called Thiamine is an essential vitamin. Humans gets thiamine from their diet in order to stay healthy. Low thiamine levels in the body is associated with adverse events. Thiamine is absorbed in the intestine by a transporter protein made by the SLC19A3 gene. This gene gives instructions to produce thiamine transporter protein, which moves thiamine into cells.
