What is Adrenaline?

Adrenaline is both a hormone and a medication. It has a wide range of applications in medicine where it is used in the treatment of superficial bleeding, anaphylaxis, croup, asthma, low blood sugar, and cardiac arrest. In 1991, Japanese chemist Jokichi Takamine isolated adrenaline from adrenal glands of sheep and oxen for the first time and 4 years later, it was approved for medical uses. Synthetic adrenaline was produced for the first time in 1904. It is also on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. Adrenaline is one of the safest and most effective pharmaceutical products required in a health system.

Adrenaline for sale

The cost of Adrenaline is quite affordable. From our online B2B marketplace, we have established that the price for a 1 mg/ml adrenaline injection is in the range of $0.18 – $1.42. However, the cost varies widely across the globe because of the different conditions in the pharmaceutical products environment. In most developing countries, the wholesale cost of adrenaline ranges from $0.10 to $0.95 per vial. For an injectable adrenaline 1 mg/ml solution, the average wholesale price is $271 for a supply of 30 milliliters. Again, this cost depends on whether one is purchasing the drug from online pharmacies or directly from the walk-in pharmacies. If you want to reduce the cost of purchasing drugs online, you should buy in bulk to enjoy the economies of scale. This is because most online pharmacies charge customers for shipping drugs to them. Additionally, some online pharmacies do not accept insurance plans hence they shift the cost to the consumer. However, some pharmacies offer discount cards that help customers access medicines at reduced prices. You should consider all these factors before placing your order for drugs.

How to use Adrenaline

For anaphylaxis, physicians normally inject 0.3 ml to 0.5 ml of undiluted Adrenaline either subcutaneously or intramuscularly into the patient’s anterolateral aspect of the thigh. Adrenaline does not work effectively if it is injected into the muscles of buttocks or veins. If necessary, the injection may be repeated as many as 10 times but with a maximum of 0.5 ml per injection. For children weighing less than 30 kg, the dosage is lower. It should be 0.01 ml/kg of undiluted Adrenaline but with the same mode of administration; subcutaneously or intramuscularly through the thigh. The maximum dose for children who weigh less than 30 kg is 0.3 ml. For hypotension, 1 ml of Adrenaline is diluted from its vial to 1,000 ml of either a 5% dextrose or a 5% dextrose plus sodium chloride solution to produce a 1 mcg/ml solution. Patients are often monitored clinically for Adrenaline's reaction severity or cardiac effects. Common Adrenaline side effects include breathing problems, dizziness, headache, increased heartbeat, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, pale skin, general weakness, and sweating. Sometimes you may experience unusual warmth, pain, redness, swelling, and other discomforts at the point of injection. You should inform your doctor in case you experience these symptoms.
