60 mg orally per day, can be increased up to 360 mg/day divided as needed. There should be an 8-hour gap between each dose. If the dose is greater than 80 mg, divide the dose. These doses may need to be adjusted if you have a co-morbidity such as renal disease or liver disease. Omeprazole should be taken orally as directed by the physician, 30-60 minutes before your meal. Avoid crushing, chewing, or breaking the tablet or capsule.
